Centrepiece (I-III) celebrates the sumptuous pleasure of a feast while simultaneously subverting it by referencing the hidden means of its production. Seductive and repellant materials are juxtaposed in a formal visual reference to the shape of artificial pollination sticks, which may be used to manually pollinate trees when bees are in short supply. This work extends thematically the body of work ‘Frugi Bonae’, a solo exhibition at Artspace gallery (2009).
This work was exhibited at Artspace Warehouse’s exhibition ‘Oppitafel/ Babette’s Feast’ (2009).
